Towards the end of 2012, I decided Head Underwater needed a layout refresh. It’s been, geez, well over 3 years since I’ve done any sort of refresh. I had made tweaks here and there adding neat tiny things to hopefully enhance the site. But as my front-end developer skills and my design taste got better and better the more embarrassed I was by not only the way it looked but what the code looked and functioned aka “the magic”. So I spent time here and there the past couple weeks devising, designing, and building what you see now over at headunderwater.com. If it doesn’t look any different too you be sure to “hard-refresh” your browser by clearing out your cache.

Some neat key features:

• Bigger content, fancy fontz
• Responsive
• Mixtapes listing and friendz listing on the sidebar
• Random header image picked on page refresh [yeah they’re my photos].
• Little event animations to let you know there is something to do.
• Browse by tags
• ex.fm music player [the best]
• No comments! No one used them anyhow. There are 9 other ways to get a hold of me.

It remains to be decided if I want to go through the rigmarole of making this a premium theme for Tumblr but if the calls for it are loud enough I’ll give it more thought.
